Things I Love Thursday, #1

I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, but I’ve never found the right Thursday to do it, so here I am about to start! I love reading people’s posts about the things that they love and how random it usually gets and it’s kind of weird to say that I’m excited to start this hopefully a series of posts like these, but I am! BlackBerry 9780 I finally changed my phone! As soon as I got my first official paycheck in this company I blew it on this phone the very same day. I just couldn’t wait. I still love my Curve 8900 that I’ve had since 2009 but I’m passing it on my to little sister now. Time for a faster phone with a webkit browser and 3G internet connection, although the 5 megapixel camera is kind of freaking me out. I’ve never been the one to admit that I’m a crackberry addict.. but it’s kind of obvious if you know me in real life and how much I tweet. I may …

New Name, Old Face & Chinese Food

You may or may not have noticed that I changed my URL once again. I love blogging, I really do. This is proof that I haven’t given up on it and probably never will. I just wish I wasn’t so mindful with my writing because I end up giving up halfway when I feel that my writings seems mundane and uninteresting. After all, this is for me to look back on. A couple of things: [blackbirdpie url=”http://twitter.com/iamjoshbeech/status/32257300160847872″] JOSH BEECH replied to me on twitter and even retweeted my previous bog post! It only means one thing, he read it. I’ve spoken to him on MSN before because like I said in the previous post, I was one of his early twitter followers and he gave out his old old MSN ID so we got to talk for a little while just as he was about to go offline. That was definitely one of my fangirl highlights. Last night we had an early Chinese New Year dinner with workmates from China. Great food, as usual. I …

Josh Beech the Music Man

I have a feeling this “fangirling” posts are gonna go one after the other. This time, it’s the super hot Josh Beech. I’ve always had this soft spot for male models with tattoos. Usually the male models I see are all skinny, clean and boring. Ash Stymest, Josh Beech and Cole Mohr were probably the innovators of tattoo clad/post-modern models. Needless to say, I am a big fan of all three. Photo by Luke Nugent If it’s not obvious yet, my favorite is Josh Beech and this usually means hours of looking him up online (and documenting it). Finding the spreads he’s been part of, endorsements, runways he’s walked for… which lead to discovering that not only he is a model, but also a music man. His preference of music usually leans to alternative and rock of the 90s, which kind of reflects his style of music too. This is a video I found about a year ago and I couldn’t help but notice how his singing style sort of resembles Brandon Boyd of Incubus …

David Henrie by Steven Taylor

Bless my forever tween heart. I think I bloomed late because when I was in my tweens I never got into any of them boys. I did like pop music, but my fangirling was for lead singers and drummers in bands, my walls were filled with Eminem and all mid 20s actors during that time like Paul Walker, Ashton Kutcher (IKR). But now, I’m liking all these boys! From k-pop to Zac Efron (I AM OBSESSED), Joe Jonas and of course, David Henrie. You can’t deny the yummy that is THE David Henrie. I guess it doesn’t help that I have a sister who’s 12 years younger than me so I’m always exposed to them. I’ll leave you with this BTS video and a photo by photographer Steven Taylor that was done so well. He looks so mature. He’s only a year younger than I am, but I’ve been so used to liking older guys before that I feel like a tween. Doesn’t help the fact that he’s a Disney boy.

GD&TOP Knocks Diplo Out Dumbfoundead

I’ve been a follower of Diplo’s remixes (given that I know and love the song) ever since I listened to his remix of Britney’s Circus about 2 years ago. I remember listening to that track so many times I think I preferred it over the original. Since then I’ve been on the lookout for his remixes, especially when he did Flashing Lights in Kanye’s Sky High remix album, and of course, the DFX remix of M.I.A’s Paper Planes in the Slumdog soundtrack, which added so much flavor to the already awesome song. Fast forward about a year or two, I started getting into k-pop (much to my own surprise) and have been an avid enthusiast for one year now. GD & TOP, 2 of heavyweight group Big Bang‘s rappers released a collab rap album late last year and gave it a new flavor to the apparently vapid manufactured k-pop sound by describing their music as “ghetto electro” which, you guessed it, rhymes done in electro music. I loved almost all of the songs from the …
