Weekend Before THE Weekend

January 2011 I had never imagined that my best friend and I would come to a point where we had to book flights just to see each other. It’s crazy! I only saw her during the 1st half of 2011 and the first 2 months of this year. That was something I was not used to at all, but such is life, and life goes on. In about a week we will be finally seeing each other and I AM SO excited. Which reminds me, I need to set up a plan for what we’re going to do because 6 days is such a short time. Aaaahhhhh! Ever since I got back here I’ve only been immersing myself in work and a little bit of social life so I really need to come up with a plan on where to take her, what to do and have fun all at the same time. Plus two good friends from Jakarta are also joining us, so the excitement (and pressure to show Cebu) is definitely multiplying! I …

The State of Things

So… My MacBook Pro is finally gone for repair. The lady said it will probably take 7 to 14 days to a month tops. I wasn’t all that shocked because I anticipated about a month or so, I just hope it won’t take longer than that. I made the decision today as fast as I could and decided to just bring it before I change my mind or else the warranty period is going to end and I’m going to have to pay a huge amount for it and regret, I have no time for that nor the personal expenses to get myself an Apple Care Protection Program. Gone are the days where I could still ask Mom and Dad to get me the things I need. On the rough road to financial independence. Yay me? LOL. So anyway here I am typing this blog post from my iPhone. I’m going to become a laptop scavenger at home, beware fambam!

Broken Camera

I’m really sad about my camera. Fuck man, this totally sucks. Today I went to the Nikon Service Center to supposedly have my camera fixed but after finding out it’s going to cost as much as 80% of the current cost of the camera just really brought me down. So now I’m finding out a way to send the camera back to Jakarta because the warranty’s there so I went to FedEx and the shipping cost is just as much as the repair cost. Those events really brought me down. Thank goodness work just took it all away. I love the camera to bits (and my iPod–but I haven’t gotten to that part yet) and have so many events currently happening and will happen in my life that can’t be documented all because I fucking left my tumbler open inside my bag. Excuse the all the french but damn. Fuuuuuuuuuudge. I can’t even post photos on this blog anymore and that really really makes me sad. UGH! I can’t not care. I need to find …

Could the Search Be Over?

I wrote a post a while back about my constant search for affordable and good earphones, and I even wrote about how I was always against in-ear ones because the thought of something poking on the insides of my ear felt icky. Ever since that entry I bought myself two earphones already: JBL Roxy Reference 230 and Philips SHE2675B6. Still, I wasn’t satisfied. Also after using it for a while, the Philips one started developing a “can” sound. I’m not sure what the right expression for it is but it’s like you’re listening to music inside a can and it gets really annoying. I’m still using it as my iPod Touch’s mic and phone handsfree though, it’s a really good replacement. Going back to Jakarta from Cebu I had a stopover in Singapore and dundundun, I wanted to buy earphones again. I was so close to buying new ones and even considering these in-ear ones from Sony “Jienne Pop” which cost around $40-$50 then decided against it, I settled for an electric toothbrush instead because …

P300 Test Shots

I just got back home after buying a new camera, the Nikon Coolpix P300. I’ve been wanting a compact camera with almost SLR-like capabilities and have been eyeing the Canon S95 for the longest time.. until I saw the P300 a few weeks ago. It has everything I need in a camera, with Full HD video recording. I get really lazy lugging around the DSLR and wanted to find an alternative. I don’t mind not having RAW because the SLR does that and this price tag fit just right in my budget as opposed to the S95 or the upcoming S100 (before going extremely broke). I’ve also been wanting to find a good compact camera to bring to a concert next month, a concert that doesn’t allow and professional cameras whatsoever. While in the car on the way home I did some random shots and tested its low light capabilities and boy was I impressed. My previous camera, the Canon IXUS 80 sucked so bad when it came to low light situations that’s why this …
