25 Questions: A Makeup Questionnaire

Sunday nights usually mean a whole lot of beauty blog reading and YouTube-ing. This questionnaire was something I found from this blog so I decided to do it! I didn’t make it for this week’s The Sunday Currently because I napped at around 8pm and woke up past midnight (very hungry). I figured this is a pretty good entry considering I’m all about makeup nowadays. 1. Do you apply your foundation with a brush, sponge, or fingers? I don’t use foundation much because it makes my face look extremely cakey, so I use BB Cream, which I apply using my hands 98% of the time. At times when I feel like it, I use a brush. 2. Do you apply your eyeshadow from light to dark? or dark to light? Dark to light. 3. Do you prime your eyes? Yes, because I have really oily eyelids but my eyebrow area gets really dry, so I have to even it out. I use a Sephora face primer around the eye and T-zone area. I’m looking into …

The Sunday Currently, v1

I know it’s technically Monday already because it’s exactly 12:16am right now but I don’t care, I’m doing this! Excitement is still there, it’d be too late if I waited until next week. Anything that can make me a much more diligent blogger these days. Got this from Helga and this is where it started. Reading This cheesy free e-book from iBooks called Resisting the Bad Boy by Violet Duke. It’s not as bad as how I thought it would be! It’s pretty cute actually. Started reading it a few weekends ago when I was bored in the province and I go back to it when I can’t sleep. Writing This blog entry! Listening U&I by Ailee. Currently my jam. As far as non K-pop it’s The Lumineers’ Stubborn Love. Thinking About travel plans next month! I finally booked my tickets to go back to Jakarta for late October because one of my best girlfriends from uni is getting married. I haven’t been back since February last year! This is the longest time I’ve been …

Updates and Other Crazy Realizations

I feel like slapping myself for getting another thought of creating another blog just for my “personal logs”. As if this blog wasn’t personal enough and AS IF I DON’T HAVE TOO MANY BLOGS ALREADY! Sometimes I make myself laugh and I drive myself crazy for all the unnecessary reasons. Too much anxiety, too many impulse buys, crazy fangirling, so many emotions, fickleness, hypochondriac tendencies. The list just goes on. I just realized I haven’t been consistently logging on Day One as well. My last entry was about my PCOS diagnosis. Nope, I have not started pills yet because I’m scared as fuck about mood swings and getting depressed and gaining a shitload more weight so I feel like I have to go back to the doctor again. If I don’t get my period within a month again then FINE I will start taking it. This is such a contrast to my previous post about all things pretty and makeup. Something I have to control as well. I’ve been hoarding cosmetics the past few months …

Makeup et Moi, pt. 2

In 2011, my Sephora visit didn’t have any definite purchase plans but to accompany my mom with her cosmetic restocking. I figured I could get myself a new nail polish or a new lipstick. Instead, I ended up with a new BB cream, a couple of OPI nail polishes, and some new accessories like a mirror, hairbrush etc. I opted to purchase the Kameria Baby Face Anti-Acne & Pore Tightening BB cream SPF 20 (related post here because it cost the least among the others on display (at $29 as opposed to the other brands with $35-$50 range) and I was looking to buy one with the purpose of being curious to try it out. I also thought it fit most with my skin type because I grew up with a lot of acne. As a follower of the Korean entertainment culture, BB creams are mentioned a lot so I used to think it was overrated, to say the least. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. Like I said in my …

Makeup et Moi, pt. 1

I would say that 2013 is the year where I’m fully getting into cosmetics full time so I decided to try and make a series of blog posts about my journey so far. Aside from having a constant income that now allows me to purchase them and engage in cosmetic trial and error, this is the year I started to really “enhance” the outer me. I’ve been into makeup for as long as I can remember but being that kid with the worst acne (separate post for my skincare regime I guess), I was told to avoid them as much as possible. No products would fit my face and it seemed like anything I applied would result into breakouts. I guess I used the wrong products so they had very little influence on me. My mom, on the other hand, is a switcher. Anything works well with her face! She’d use high end products and can switch into drugstore products with no problem so I was always confused what kind or what brands to wear. …
