Day 14 – Memories: Been to any concerts?

We’re almost halfway! I quite like this entry because it’s going to make me re-live some awesome moments. I haven’t been to a lot of concerts but I can say I’ve seen my favorites live.. two music acts that belong in completely different genres: Incubus and 2PM. I saw Incubus in 2008 with my best friends in Jakarta, and I saw 2PM live twice, both in 2011. First was with my best friend, and the second time was during their full fledged concert in Jakarta with my sister and this was the most I’ve ever paid for a concert. Worth. Every. Penny. There’s something about K-pop stage production that blows you away. The amount of work and effort and thought they put into it better than worth it in itself. Incubus, there’s even no need to mention what it’s like seeing your favorite band from 6th grade (up to now) live and singing ALL YOUR FAVORITE songs. My first and forever love. Brandon Boyd and his voice. Jose on the drums. Mike and being his …

Day 2 – Meaning of your blog name?

This is easy, since I explained it in my About page. Otherworldly comes from the lyrics of Incubus’ song Warning, that’ goes like this: Bat your eyes girl, be otherworldly.. count your blessings, seduce a stranger. What’s so wrong with being happy? Kudos to those who see through sickness, yeah. I decided to make it my blog name because I wanted it to have a significance to my favorite band, as well as something that’s not too me or too predictable. I also patterned it with a hyphen to match my Incu-sisters’—Anna, who owns so-stellar.org and Keng (my host!) who owns turb0-geek.org—domain names that also have something to do with our favorite band. I’m going to be honest and say that other-worldly.org was really thought-out back in the day but what I made sure of was that even though down the line I would lose all my sense of attachment to Incubus, this would still be a domain name that I would like regardless of its initial conception. Fast forward a few years later, I …

Hey there, March

March is as bittersweet as it gets. Here I am nursing a leukocytosis, my WBC count is high thus I have what it is called a bacterial infection, in layman’s term. My second batch of ASOS goods never arrived since my purchase last December, so I got a refund. As much as I love having money again.. I really wanted those things. Nevertheless, I still love ASOS for its amazing sale goods and really great customer service. It’s a shame the Philippine Post Office sucks monkey balls. I will be traveling to Korea end of month. I am so excited! Getting to see the city I’ve been wanting to go to for a few years now, catching up with old friends, hopefully meeting new ones and meeting one of my best friends whom I haven’t seen in a while. Should be good! I’ve been struggling a bit when it comes to keeping my finances in tact. This uphill road to financial independence is starting to take a toll on me. 2012 went by too fast …

Perks and Much More

I got off work early today because of an earlier shift so I figured I’d finally write something in here. I know it’s been a while.. so many things have happened since the last time I wrote here more than a month ago. If I started where I left off, yes my best friend(s) came to town to visit me and it was the one of the best weekends ever, or if not, then the best weekend of this year. Even if it meant I had to trade sleep and my zombie eyes had to work overtime. We went island hopping, partied like there’s no tomorrow, I became a tourist in my own city because I got to go to places I had never been and of course the most important things: my best friends, and a piece of Jakarta life in my not-so-new life back home here in Cebu. Over the weekend I watched Perks of Being a Wallflower with my sister Jana. Perfect is quite an understatement. I read the book not too …
