Welcoming 2012

…and just like that, it’s another new year. I’m going to be redundant and say that FUCK, HOW DOES TIME FLY SO FAST? I’m (still) in the Philippines right now, and still loving it despite endless eating and drinking. There are so many things I want to say but I don’t know where to start. I want to be candid with this blog starting from this year but I wanna be just as candid to myself. I feel like I’m so open and transparent about so many things but there are other things I hate to admit to myself, and have so much fear about things and life that I need to start taking charge and practice on how to get rid of those things. I will get there, just you wait. New Year’s Eve was spent with my family and cousins at the Waterfront Hotel Cebu, first NYE spent with so many strangers in one room. Our NYE’s usually consisted of big family events or family friends, then after dinner and fireworks I’d go …

Simple Entry

My mom is really into reading blogs now. She e-mailed me today telling me to check out a blog. It’s funny, because she doesn’t know about mine. The author writes simple entries but posts nice interesting photos about the simplest things, like peeling off stickers inside a taxi cab (weird, right?). I really enjoyed it. Then I thought, how come I can’t write simply anymore? I just want to use small simple words, like how I’m writing now. Sometimes when I blog or when I want to blog, I think of so many things to say, that I end up not blogging at all. It’s very annoying. I want to blog more and post more pictures. I just need to get over over-thinking things to write about. I haven’t even finished sorting out photos from our recent beach trip. The Canon S100 was just released, have you seen it? When I was at the Changi Airport in Singapore I went to an electronic store and I asked the sales associate if I could take a …

Things I Love Thursday, #3: Recent Buys

Finally back to blogging after the holidays, which were great. First 5 days spent lazing about, watching City Hunter and adopting DOLCE FAR NIENTE into my life, something which I never have the luxury of doing anymore ever since I got out of uni and the next 5 days were spent with family in a vacation to Singapore and Bintan Island. Shopping, the beach.. too good. Before I talk about the vacation and upload some photos, when I was in Singapore I did a bit of shopping. Some new clothes, new shoes, make-up, skin care, foodtrips, accessories.. not too many but enough to make me satisfied and quite broke. Sigh, but no sigh! Out of everything I bought these are probably the top 3 buys which I was most happy about, and also another edition of TILT. 1. Kameria Baby Face BB Cream, about $25 I’ve heard a lot about BB Creams before, the wonders they’ve done to women and how some people swear by these products. In the beginning I wasn’t really swayed but …

Bantayan Island

I am so bad at posting pictures on my blog because I’m always so lazy to process or transfer photos from the SLR. I should be changing that because photos are such interesting elements to add into a post. This entry is a bit overdue but it’s something I really wanna share and put here. When I went home to Cebu for vacation about a month ago we decided to go to Bantayan Island. Time was limited but we promised ourselves that we would go for a small family trip together with cousins who also came back from New York. We only stayed for a very short time, barely a 24-hour overnight stay but it was so. Damn. Worth it. I fell in love with the place. It’s a little bit weird because my family comes from the northernmost part of Cebu and Bantayan is literally just an hour away but this is my very first time to set foot on the island. I’m kind of embarrassed when I think about it but what matters …

Sickly No More

2010 wasn’t the greatest year for me when it came to health. I had my worst tonsillitis cases that visited me often–at one point almost every month, I had my left wisdom teeth removed (which really hurt like a bitch), I would catch the flu really quickly and any amount of fatigue would send me straight over the edge. Needless to say I missed a lot of work days. I guess stress was also one of the triggers because my office was still in the middle of the Jakarta CBD and I would spend a minimum of 1:30 hours in traffic in the morning and another 1:30 at night. That’s just the minimum. One time I left the house at 7 in the morning and didn’t arrive until almost 11am. That was so bad and I told myself then that no matter how glamorous that job was with all the corporate stuff I dreamed about ever since I was a kid, traveling stress wasn’t worth it. I was always so down and worn out by …
