The Sunday Currently, v27

While everyone’s long weekend is just starting or halfway, I’ve already completed mine. Beach: check. Food: check. Alcohol: check. Family & friends: check. Catching up on sleep: check. Catching up on shows & videos: check. This Sunday is all about getting back on track for the month to come. FEELING Tired. My long weekend had already started since Tuesday afternoon and I am spent. Not so much physically but mostly mentally. My mind was just all over the place since then and I haven’t done much introspection. It’s a little annoying, to be honest. READING A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Rob has been recommending this book to me and after a good light reading streak the past few days, I am ready to tackle a good and long book–this one is almost 800 pages! WATCHING I just finished episode 11 of Riverdale. We’re getting so close to finding out Jason Blossom’s murderer! I’m also watching Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. After Weightlifting Fairy, I wanted another bearer-of-good-vibes kdrama and while SWDBS is one, I …

Things I Love Thursday, #9

Sunnies Specs in Reagan Bronze I used to wear the Alister prior, but in less than 6 months my grade shot up and wearing plastic lenses suddenly became so heavy. I tried their metal collection and was pleasantly surprised at how I loved the fit of the Reagan. What I like about Sunnies Specs is that it’s stylish but inexpensive. Kehlani’s Distraction Been obsessed with this song recently. Terrace House Aloha State Terrace House Aloha State is a Japanese reality show centered around human beings who live and interact with each other for a certain amount of time. This time, it’s set in North America so relationships and way of life are more Westernized as opposed to the original series. Everything is based among the famous Japanese simplicity of interior design and cinematography. Impatiently patiently waiting for Part 2 to come out on this side of Netflix! Riverdale I can’t really say I love Riverdale yet, but the fact that I keep watching it every week is an indication of my interest. I kind of …

My Top Songs of the Year 2016

I use Spotify religiously this Top 100 most listened songs of the year playlist that they generated is close to accurate. It includes a lot of the songs on the charts and I can say that pop music was pretty damn good this year. I didn’t see the need to complain about the quality of hits, except of course when they are overplayed but I can get past that. I can activate my selective hearing skills pretty well so I don’t die when I hear Chainsmokers’ Closer everywhere. For the record, Don’t Let Me Down trumps Closer in my book. All day err day. I listened to a lot of PARTYNEXTDOOR’s Come and See Me the most, I was obsessed with this song. My two most listened albums in its entirety are Frank Ocean’s Blonde, Kings of Leon’s WALLS, and Chance the Rapper’s Coloring Book so I’m not surprised why they showed up sparingly in this list. I also loved Solange’s A Seat at the Table. It wasn’t as much of a just one track …

Random Questions Vol. 1

I slept all day today (Wednesday, technically) because yay for holidays and I badly needed it. I was in Boracay with some friends for an extended weekend and somehow I haven’t recovered from it. It’s midnight now and tonight’s pre-bedtime reads included Racked. Came across this article where they asked Rashida Jones questions and I decided to do my own, following the same-ish format. Favorite store in Cebu: A bit challenging because the stores I like in Cebu are all chains–I’ve yet to find something I like that’s completely local. I’ll say Rustans because I’m basic like that. What’s on heavy rotation in your closet: These black dresses that I own, I have about 4 or 5 that I can wear just about anywhere or to any occasion. Mango and Pull & Bear makes really versatile ones. Favorite drugstore beauty buy: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil. Both not available in the Philippines, sadly. Favorite investment beauty product: My NARS Audacious Lipstick and LORAC Pro 2 palette. I would say my Hourglass Ambient …

Friday’s 10 Happy Things, v11

Welcome to the first edition of Friday’s 10 Happy Things for 2016! If you didn’t know about this project yet, it’s a blog series Helga came up with last year and it’s a great exercise to remember the positive things that happened within the week. 1. Parents’ 28th anniversary. Last weekend we celebrated my parents’ wedding anniversary by doing a little family staycation in Mövenpick Cebu. As always, a good dose of sun, sand, and sea is always something I love and look forward to and it’s impossible for me to not have a great time. 2. On the Wings of Love final week. I just realized this is the second time I’ve mentioned this in my blog series! It’s the last week before the show wraps up and although I don’t religiously watch it, I have been staying tuned every day for the past 2 weeks. I’m a fan of this loveteam so it deserves a place in this list! 3. Midweek beach break. Wednesday and Thursday were holidays in Cebu (though not for …
