Simple Entry

My mom is really into reading blogs now. She e-mailed me today telling me to check out a blog. It’s funny, because she doesn’t know about mine. The author writes simple entries but posts nice interesting photos about the simplest things, like peeling off stickers inside a taxi cab (weird, right?). I really enjoyed it. Then I thought, how come I can’t write simply anymore? I just want to use small simple words, like how I’m writing now. Sometimes when I blog or when I want to blog, I think of so many things to say, that I end up not blogging at all. It’s very annoying. I want to blog more and post more pictures. I just need to get over over-thinking things to write about. I haven’t even finished sorting out photos from our recent beach trip. The Canon S100 was just released, have you seen it? When I was at the Changi Airport in Singapore I went to an electronic store and I asked the sales associate if I could take a …

Hump Day Randoms

I’ve been following A Softer World for more than 3 years now, sometimes I don’t understand it but the wit is usually on point and incredible. Like the one above. I bought these from ASOS the other day. So cute and cheap for only less than $11. I’ve become kind of an ASOS junkie lately.. I can’t resist their sales but in the end I do anyway. I recently bought a bag and another bag is on the way, it hasn’t arrived although it’s been close to a month. Patience and self-control is really what you need when it comes to online shopping. Have you listened to Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch The Throne? It’s automatically included in my 2011 Best Album list. The level of epic is just awesome. My favorite tracks are New Day, Lift Off (feat. Beyonce) and everything else. Unlike 3 years ago, I didn’t get to watch Incubus in Jakarta this time. It’s a shame now because I have money to pay for concerts but no time to go because they’re …

Write Play

I was going through my old posts and remembering how expressive I used to be with my blogging, and pretty elaborate too. I may not have had perfect grammar and admirable wit, but I wrote, wrote and loved it. I blame Twitter and Tumblr. I stopped using WP because Tumblr was at its peak 2008-2009 and I didn’t really have anything much to say anymore because there were all these pretty photos I could describe. I also spew out about a hundred tweets a day (exaggeration) but I hardly blog anymore. Has advanced technology really reduced me to be a lazy thinker and writer? I used to look forward to blogging with a thousand ideas in my head so much! Unfortunately, I can’t say the same anymore.. so here I am again blogging about my lack of blogging skills which is starting to become so redundant already. Speaking about writing, I actually have a screenplay that’s been in my hard drive for a while now. I think I started it about 2 or 3 years …

QOTD: How often do you use the phone to call?

This smartly-written article from The New York Times titled Don’t Call Me, I Won’t Call You came to my attention a few days ago on twitter. It made so much sense that I realized, I don’t call people anymore either. I remember back in middle school when I used to sprint to the phone the moment it rang because I KNEW it was for me. Now, even if I were the only one left at home I wouldn’t bother picking up the phone at all, or take ages to reach it. My mobile is used for BBM, Twitter, emails, IM and Facebook most of the time. 80% of my prepaid top-up is used to activate my BIS and only 20% (sometimes even less) is used for extra credit or in case of emergency. Sometimes when my phone rings I don’t even bother to pick it up unless told beforehand that I was gonna get that call. I guess the reason why I knew I wasn’t gonna last in my previous job because it involved calling …

General Retrospect

I meant to post about a pretty awesome weekend where I watched Sondre Lerche and Corinne Bailey Rae and attended one of my closest friend’s wedding but I’ll get to that later. Work has been sorta biting my ass this week (well except for my rest Monday–had no work that time), I’ve hardly had any time to sit down in front of a WP page that when I found a chance I grabbed it straight away. I was sorting out my backups folder when I found a couple of old blog posts that I had saved and it got me thinking how my writing was so much better then. These days when I blog I’m always finding it hard to construct sentences in my head to tell a story or describe something. For example this morning while I was taking a shower, I suddenly thought of things to write about and had them saved up in my head. Of course the minute I turned the shower off all the thoughts went off with it. I …
